Working with me

What it's actually like, before you commit to anything.

No intake form as a first impression. No being asked to summarize your entire life in chronological order. We start with a conversation and go from there.

A free 15-minute consultation

You tell me what's going on in whatever order it comes out. I tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit and which track makes sense. No pressure to book at the end.

Getting oriented

The first few sessions map the terrain: where the friction actually is, what's already working, what's hormonal, what's structural, what's grief. [confirm number of sessions]

Building something that holds

We work on the real week — the school pickup, the inbox, the 4pm crash, the conversation you've been avoiding. Systems get tested and revised rather than assigned.

Ongoing, then less

Frequency changes as things stabilize. The goal isn't to keep you in sessions forever; it's to leave you with something that works when I'm not there. [confirm cadence options]

Two ways to work together

One is clinical care. One is not. The difference matters.

Therapy is licensed mental health treatment, and I can provide it only to clients physically located in California. Coaching is non-clinical and available worldwide, including California.

Track one · Clinical

Therapy

Psychotherapy with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, informed by trauma and by the body. Room for what sits underneath and around the ADHD: anxiety, depression, burnout, complex trauma, and grief about the years before you knew.

Available only to clients physically located in California
Insurance accepted through Alma
$150 per session without insurance
Video or phone · [session length]
I hold an active California LCSW license, [license #]. Licensure follows where you are physically sitting during the session, not where you live on paper.
Track two · Non-clinical

ADHD Coaching

Forward-facing, practical, structure-building work. Systems that survive contact with your actual week, rather than the week you keep planning for.

Available worldwide, in English, including California
Self-pay only · [coaching rate]
Video or phone · [session length]
[single sessions or packages?]
Coaching is not psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment for any mental health condition, and it does not create a clinician-patient relationship. If what you need is clinical care and you are outside California, I will say so and help you find someone licensed where you are.
How I work

You don't need a better personality. You need a better fit.

Regulation before strategy. When you're running on empty, no system sticks. We settle things first, then build.
Design for the brain you have. Not the one a productivity book assumes you have.
Externalize before you internalize. If it lives only in your head, it isn't a system yet.
No shame-based accountability. Shame is a poor motivator and a reliable way to lose weeks.
Trauma and ADHD get held together. Not sequenced into separate appointments, and not treated as the same thing.
Your systems are allowed to be strange. If it works, it's elegant.
Late diagnosis deserves grief, not just logistics. There is usually a whole life to re-read, and that takes time.
What you can expect from me

Plainly stated, so you can hold me to it.

I won't be surprised by anything. Not the unopened mail, not the three unfinished projects, not the fact that you rescheduled twice.
I'll tell you what I think. Including when I think you need something other than me.
We'll work at your pace and revise often. If a plan didn't happen, the plan was wrong. We change the plan.
Nothing here requires you to perform being fine. [Brittni — add one line in your own voice.]
